Until recently, teaching was not something we understood the way it should be. We thought of the teachers as just another stakeholder in the process of education. But the COVID Lockdown and the subsequent flood of Online Teaching has brought the rationality back to teaching. Online teaching, the way we are ending up doing, looks like a cheap prescription followed obsessively.

In the last seven decades, India and Indians have come a long way from being humble-recently freed citizens to become nationals of a rising economic power in the world. We have seen changes that have transformed our ways of thinking as well as that of living. The New India we have received and created for the coming generations is considerably different from the one inherited by us.

We should learn to socialise and make a community of friends and well-wishers. Sense of Saftey comes from the community. One who is part of a community can look for a reprise in times of emotional draught. Even during a professional crisis, the community comes to rescue you. Important things are to develop yourself as a community person among a sensible lot of people and maintaining the same for life.

News reports are nightmarish. The images are fearful and frightening. The inner call is that this will pass; the eyes and heart are afraid that this might not pass without a cost. The days are stressed and nights are bleak. The positive thing is the daring of human being to make it a time to look for better all around. We see them taking cautions, sharing precautions and look pro-active in the face of this pandemic. 

A Terrible thing is happening to teachers. Something must be done! The disturbances are reaching their highest scale and the teachers who are teaching actually, are going to be left abandoned. There is a bleak picture, nightmarish devastation awaiting. There might not be a remedy if we do not wake up to the need of this very moment, forget the day.

India was not a World Leader in education because there were standardised and policy-bound selection criteria in that age. We had teachers who actually wanted to teach and they were allowed to make an impact in the lives of the disciples. Now, teachers are hired and there are more employed-individuals than teachers.

Corona has connected the whole world. We know the number of countries in the world and we know where they are located. Globe seems so small today in the literal sense. People are dying of something known but still unknown. COVID has left us with one choice alone: Distancing ourselves and ensure that we do not get into open to meet people. Isn't it intriguing?

I beg to say that I am a student at your school and I shall be completing my XII in the coming year. After completing my school education, I shall be joining Higher Education and will pursue a professional degree. I aim at making a good career that will make me lead a good life as an individual.

Education has been a commodity and in recent years, we have seen it transformed into a larger business than any other service sector. Billions are going to schools and getting conditioned for the future. One wrong is to prepare a generation for the future which is unknown. Still, we love this obsession of the FUTURE.

Nature is the Supreme Court! The man-made -pathies are merely the junior courts we can move to, seeking temporary solutions. The year of 2019 ended with something unending in 2020. The year which was supposed to be a year of global transformation is falling on the ground as the most 'helpless' year in the modern world.

It used to be a fortunate thing to have good children who shall keep your words and dreams; who bring pride to the family name and have a say in the world that you feel happy about. Parents used to work hard to inculcate goodness among their children. Generations used to depend on this divine bliss of having Sensible and Disciplined Children.

Swami Chinmayananda's Twitter account shared this message highlighting the importance of intuition. The followers of spirituality do trust the presence of the supreme self-soul in the body and also adhere to the notion of ‘intuition’.

This is the season of admission at schools and a planning phase for the colleges. There is a high probability that this time also the planning and execution shall miss the mark of logic. The fault is not in their stars, it is the vicious circle that behaves like a devil’s triangle. The Policy Makers - Parents - Teachers are the ones to be hailed as heroes and as the culprits at the same time, for the success or the failure of the student.

Future is not a thing to be sold. But the Modern Business Model sells anything and everything. We have missed a very important aspect of our preparation for life and even after knowing the mistake, we are ignorant of that. The truth is that we have got obsessed with the branded product 'FUTURE' and have forgotten that it is the present- here and now- that we need to live.

Bookshelves are crowded with books that offer to help the readers in their time management. The claims aren’t false but the methods are vague. Motivating one to manage time and keep an eye on the watch each moment, isn’t the real thing that one should be doing to manage time.

Education is the holistic development of the child who attends the school. It also includes a close association with the aesthetic as well as the current world trends. But, do we have this 'holistic' implemented in the policies or even in the plans to make the policies about education? The answer is the rhetoric 'YES'. However, reality speaks otherwise.

Ernest Hemingway, the mythical persona of American Literature, has been a Muse to me. I invoke him whenever I need to bring something filled with emotional maturity. Hemingway fought all his life with himself. That is what we all do but give up quite early. He lived to prove things to himself and bothered least of the world's madness. 

We are dying a death of indifference and absence of consideration. The things around us are not as they used to be but that does not bother us. We feel safe for now and recuse ourselves from the questions about future.
