“Education is one of the greatest gifts for mankind. Each one of us must seek this enlightenment.” When Lailah Gifty Akita says this, she opens up the world on learning to us. Life would not have been so beautiful
if we had remained social animals only. The Sensible Social Animal, with the faculty of thinking and expressing, has an urge to learn. We are all learners. We are all curious and hungry to add knowledge to our existence.
Learner is Supreme!
It has been an age-old advice that we must not stop learning because the moment we start feeling that we know everything, it is the end of learning. Since our childhood, even in our infancy, we demonstrate 'Learning Aptitude'. We know Eklavya, the one who decided to learn and developed his 'PLN- Personal Learning Network. This virtual technology that existed in the mind of Eklavya, the Learner, paves the way for all of us. Eklavyaism is the same philosophy of LEARNING, through conviction.
Are we learning today? Do we have the temperament to engage our lives with others? Is there a methodology to develop a Self-Learning Model?
The answers to all these, as many more, lie in the mind of the learner. I wish to tell you that being a student is the most fortunate and dignified thing in our lives. We never get another chance to learn without being held accountable for the failures. Yes, issues of examinations and failing academic tests can never stop the learner. The wrong thing that has happened to Learning is that we have started 'Booking' it into syllabi and books.
Students must feel proud of being the foundation of Lthe earning edifice. Believing in your own capability of comprehending things through empathetic observation is the key. Being human is being a learner throughout your life. Do not stop, unless you realise that your entity doesn't need any improvement. Eklavya established himself as the supreme learner, not by the sacrifice alone, but by accomplishing the skills perfectly. Do not just go for the thrilling conclusions in the stories of learners; the journey they have undertaken has also been great.
Life is divided into various phases, not by years, but by our interaction with the world around us. When we are at home and developing our mind, we recognise parents, home, friends and nature too.
